I kissed my radio at that time also. Quite a bit of interesting banter during this possible "classic" that I have long considered one of the very best from 1978. This in spite of Jer being very sick and his voice sounding just awefull. He makes up with it with some rather brilliant paying, particularly on Passenger, which might be a best ever. And this performance of Loser is particularly emotive, perhaps enhanced by Jer's creaking voice. I think this show is rather special, many of the songs stand out and although I am loathe to admit, it might be one of Donna's best performances?

This show has always been my go to show for '78, and I still wax nostalgic about the WNEW radio broadcast when I hear Richard Neer now on WFAN taking sports. Interestingly, this show was filmed and at one point you can hear Weir say that he wished "they would get the elephants off the stage" perhaps annoyed by the film crew?

Has anyone seen any of the video taken at this "Deadheads" only show? I doubt it will ever see the light of day, at least officially. I cant imagine the band is satisfied with the quality of this perfomance, based on Jer's voice.

I remember getting an invitation from the GD ticket sales to buy tickets to this invitation only show, but I was only 15 at the time, and Passaic being somewhat of a cesspool, my parents where not accomodating of my request. Anyone attend this great show?

No, but a Roadie from those days patronized our restaurant on a daily basis.... I was not in Point Richmond (Got Milk), but a Drinking Village with a fishing problem. Man, we had some goodtimes back then. I wonder if these might be his recordings. If you have a GD Family Album, see if you can pick'um out. It is a mosaic triangular design of passport in the Egypt section. Still I am curious on the green brothers.

Well Cliff, before reading your reply I had just had a repeat listen to Donna, followed by Loser and Sugaree.
I perused your top shop show list earlier and will dive in there later. Was listening to some '71 on my battered kitchen ghetto blaster last night but being slightly battered myself I could'nt give ya the precise date.
I keep wondering who is at the wheel of your boat while you are at the keyboard.
Once again, Peace.
